Thursdays Just Got Thrilling Again

You heard right, the Thrilling Thursday team are back at Evelina London's Children Hospital! What a perfect gift for the children to get the festive season started.

It was a team effort to get everything ready for the first shift, from sorting out crafts to organising games, from training to studio clean out, it was all hands on deck.

Post pandemic and 3 years later from the last shift, a few things have changed and the team have learned a lot of ways to keeping doing what they do but even better. First the team had to get the radio equipment back up to speed and making sure all the music was up-to-date! Next came the big studio clean, this not only included dusting but sorting through crafts to make sure there was enough stock to get started as well as making sure all games were packed and cleaned correctly to keep the children safe.

Now that the studio was ready, it was time to get the volunteers up-to-speed on all the changes and also a little refresher since everyone had been away for so long. Though once the training began, it was clear to see the volunteers were eager to get started and it felt like no time had passed since the last shift 3 years ago!

From the smiles above, it can be said the team had an amazing first shift and of course the warm welcome from all the staff at the hospital reminded the team just how remarkable they are and the work that they do.

Tuesday and Wednesday nights are not far behind and we'll be sure to share the exciting news when they are back up and running. For now it's a great big hello to the returning team on Thrilling Thursday!
